Spring Meetings and Events

Spring has been a busy tine for A.C.E. with many special guests and events.

On Wednesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 10, the central office welcomed staff from Bozeman, Montana. Visiting staff included Mary Ulrich, Director, and Tiffany Ranalli, Instructor, from the A.C.E. Language Institute at Montana State University, as well as Janelle Rasmussen, Director of Training and Special Programs at Montana State University. The Montana staff visited A.C.E. headquarters and the institute at Seattle Pacific University.

From Friday, May 11, through Tuesday, May 15, A.C.E. hosted Kimberly Sizelove, recently appointed Director of the A.C.E. Language Institute at the University of Rhode Island. Kimberly joins A.C.E. from previously serving as Program Director for the English Language Program at Brandeis University. She also worked as an English Instructor in the Netherlands for 18 years. A.C.E. congratulates Kimberly on this new role!

On Friday, May 11, colleagues attended the AWISA conference at North Seattle Community College. Senior Vice President Sam Shepherd delivered the keynote address as a Q&A dialogue about his recent trip to Japan and his long-term perspective of trends in Japanese-American educational relations. In compliment to the talk, the EIKEN North America Liaison office served to sponsor the luncheon with a delicious Japanese buffet. Additionally, Enrollment Services Director Shirley Henderson has completed her term as AWISA Secretary and has now been named the AWISA Chair for 2012-13.
