The arrival of spring in Rhode Island has meant new things for the Language Institute at URI. Last month, the A.C.E. office settled in to its permanent home in URI’s historic Taft Hall (pictured). Meanwhile, students have been taking advantage of the seasonal warm spells with outdoor classes on the quad and off-campus excursions.
In April, students joined staff on a trip to the state’s capital Providence. Together, they explored sites such as the Rhode Island Statehouse, Waterplace Park, and the colonial-era neighborhood of College Hill, home to Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. Finally, a sushi lunch afforded the group a multicultural dining experience and a first time for an A.C.E. initiate of Japanese cuisine.
