We always do our best to give a warm welcome to our new students at the A.C.E. Language Institutes. (Summer sessions are easily our favorites because we get to have a picnic by the canal.) This morning, 29 new students at the A.C.E. Language Institute at Seattle Pacific University began their day by taking a 90 minute placement test and going through a placement interview with one of our instructors. With the hard work out of the way, it was time for the picnic! The students represent Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. But the day wasn’t just about welcoming our newest A.C.E. family members; it was also about commending the eight students who completed the program this past session. Two of these students have also been accepted to undergraduate programs in Florida and California. Congratulations to Eissa Baqer, who will be attending Barry University, and Ali Al Hammadi, who will be attending California State University at Northridge.
After the picnic, the incoming students attended orientation and had a campus tour. A.C.E. students enjoy full access to campus, including the library and gym facilities. Classes start next Monday at 9 AM. Hopefully the weather will hold so all the new Seattleites can get out and explore the city!
