To get people excited for the 2010 TESOL Convention in Boston (see post below), we invite you to take this Multiple Intelligences quiz. In 1983, Howard Gardner, who is this year’s TESOL plenary speaker, presented his Theory of Multiple Intelligences, which posits that intelligence does not exist along a single continuum, but many, so that one person may be “math smart”, another “picture smart”, and yet another “nature smart”. All in all, there are eight Intelligences under the theory. You can read all about them here, but they are also listed below (quoted from the link) for quick reference.
Linguistic intelligence (“word smart”):
Logical-mathematical intelligence (“number/reasoning smart”)
Spatial intelligence (“picture smart”)
Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence (“body smart”)
Musical intelligence (“music smart”)
Interpersonal intelligence (“people smart”)
Intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”)
Naturalist intelligence (“nature smart”)
So, which intelligence is your strongest? Take this quiz and find out! If you like, share your results in the comment thread to this post.
I’m iInterpersonal intelligence (“people smart”), followed by Intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”), and then Linguistic intelligence (“word smart”). Seems to fit! What a fun quiz to take.
