A.C.E. and the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle will be hosting Dr. Zuhair Humadi, the Executive Director of the Iraq Education Initiative and senior adviser to Vice President Adil Abd Al-Mahdi next week. Dr. Humadi will give a talk titled “Educating Iraq,” a detailed look at the Iraq Education Initiative. The talk will be held at the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce next Monday morning from 8:00 to 9:30. Tickets are 5$, though you’ll need to RSVP through the TDA. About the Iraq Education Initiative:
The Iraqi government has committed $1 billion a year to fund the study abroad of Iraqi nationals. Each year for a period of five years, the initiative will provide full scholarships for up to 10,000 Iraqi high school graduates to study in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, France and Germany. […] Dr. Humadi estimated that more than 80% of the scholarships will go to undergraduate students interested in seeking an associates or bachelors degree.
