The seminal and sometimes controversial linguist and educational researcher Stephen Krashen of the University of Southern California will be holding a seminar at the Seattle Center next Monday, December 7th. Krashen’s notable (and oft disputed) contributions to the field of Second Language Acquisition include the comprehensible input hypothesis, the monitor hypothesis, the affective filter hypothesis, and the natural order hypothesis. The seminar promises to “arm you with late-breaking scientific research and the most effective instructional strategies.” Area language teachers, linguists, and students of both are encouraged to attend.
